How the RETRO-PAR LED retrofit fits PAR 56 and PAR 64 fixtures
In this video, Canto USA’s Shawn Harmon explains how the RETRO-PAR LED retrofit is used for compatible PAR fixtures. He answers the common question of whether the company supplies a retrofit for PAR 56 or PAR 64 fixtures and confirms that both options are available.
The walkthrough shows a simple installation process: remove the existing lamp hardware, insert the retrofit in the fixture, secure it with the retaining clip, and reconnect it. Harmon also notes that a zip tie may help keep the ceramic connection secure when needed.
The video then covers the adjustable PAR ring, which uses thumb screws or wing nuts to move the assembly slightly for positioning. For PAR 64 applications, Canto USA adds another ring, and standoffs can be used when the ring needs to sit farther forward or back.
Overall, the video gives lighting professionals a practical overview of RETRO-PAR as a fixture upgrade option and the basic setup choices to consider before installation.

One of the questions we keep getting is, "Do you guys supply a retrofit for a PAR 56 or a PAR 64?" and the answer is, YES. We've been doing this for years. Glad to do it. Easy to do it. The first thing we got to know is what size do you want? 150, 300, 500, 700, or a 1000? What are we replacing? And then the second thing is it a PAR 56 or PAR 64? We have solutions for both of these options. In this case I have a PAR 56 PAR can just like the standard theatrical PAR can we've been using forever. The easiest way to install it is pull it out and you take the ceramic off the back of the existing lamp, then you remove your lamp from your fixture, and then as you can see here I've got a 300 that I've put in here. So, we'll just slip that right in right where the lamp would normally go. Put my retaining clip back in. Plug it back in. I would put a zip tie on this just to hold the ceramic together. Especially for those that are really loose connections in there just to make sure it stays really good. Put it back together and you're good to go on this. This was a PAR 56, obviously. Which is a ring that's very similar to this. This is the adjustable par ring. So, what makes it adjustable is we actually put little thumb screws or wing nuts on here so you can move this up and down a little over two inches if you need to. Just to get it exactly where you want it. To make this a PAR 64 we literally just add another ring to this, screw it together, and then it goes out to you. We can also do standoffs to put that ring wherever you need it. So, if you need it to be you know further down or further back we can do standoffs. And then once you get it where you want it just tighten these wing nuts down and you're done. Super easy. Super simple installation. Let us know if you have any questions. We're happy to help
