How to install and use a one-arm controller on a Canto followspot
In this video, Shawn Harmon from Canto USA shows how to install a one-arm controller accessory for a Canto followspot. The setup is designed to help operators manage the iris and dowser at the same time when that would otherwise be difficult with separate controls.
The walkthrough starts with removing the controller parts from the packaging and gathering a number 1 Phillips screwdriver. Shawn then removes the two top pieces, adds the bridge, and attaches the handle to the operation arms.
Once installed, the controller lets the operator move the iris and dowser together with a wrist motion. Shawn also notes that the setup may need a little adjustment depending on spacing and what feels most comfortable during use.
The video ends with a reminder that questions can be directed to a Canto dealer or to Canto USA directly.

Hi! Shawn Harmon here with Canto USA today to talk to you about installing a one-armed controller. Sometimes people feel like they need to operate the iris and the dowser at the same time and that can sometimes be difficult with a Canto followspot. So, we do have an accessory that one can purchase called the kit for one-handed control of iris and dowser. It's pretty easy to remember. To do this it's pretty easy. We take off these two top pieces we put a little bridge on and then we have a handle that goes in between. I'm gonna show you how to change that out. First thing we're gonna do is pull these two items from their packaging. Then we're going to need a number 1 Phillips screwdriver and we're going to take these top pieces off. Then we're going to put the bridge on. Then we're going to attach it to the operation arms. That's it. Now you're able to operate the iris and the dowser at the same time just by flicking your wrist one way or the other. This may need a little adjustment as you figure out what works best for you on distances between things but it works really good. Thank you for watching this video. If you have any questions about anything that we have covered please feel free to reach out to a Canto dealer or to us directly. Thank you very much! Have a great day!
